Guide for small businesses

Free grants, ad credits and software for small businesses

Cash grants, free advertising, cloud credits and free software that big companies offer for-profit small businesses, with eligibility and step-by-step application instructions.

Updated October 16, 2026 · 112 programs you can use now

Most small-business grant lists repeat the same handful of contests. The bigger opportunity is the free value large companies build into their programs. Spectrum Reach gives local businesses up to $15,000 in TV and streaming advertising. Snapchat, Roku and others add free credit to a new advertiser's first spend. AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft give cloud credits to young companies without asking for equity.

Cash grants exist too, from Verizon's $10,000 Digital Ready grants to utility programs that help businesses expand in their service areas. We checked every program below on the company's own website, and each card says what you get, who qualifies and how to apply.

Nationwide programs come first. Open your state at the bottom of the page for programs limited to particular states.

Common questions

Are there really free grants for small businesses?
Yes, but cash grants are competitive and most come with conditions, such as completing courses (Verizon Digital Ready) or being in a particular market (Spectrum Reach). In-kind programs like ad credits and cloud credits are much easier to get and are often worth more than a typical small grant.
Do I have to pay any of this back?
No. Grants and credits aren't loans. Credits are spent on the company's own platform and usually expire, so check the expiry before you activate them.
Why do some well-known programs show "Check dates"?
We only call a program open when its own website says so. Some long-running programs have gone quiet: Comcast RISE's website now redirects to a general Comcast page with no new round announced, so we show it as "Check dates" until Comcast says otherwise.

Programs that have ended

Still widely listed elsewhere, so here for the record. Don't apply to these.

  • Fast Break for Small Business (Accion Opportunity Fund, LegalZoom and the NBA)
  • FedEx Small Business Grants Program (FedEx)
  • Google for Startups Black Founders Fund (U.S.) (Google)
  • Google for Startups Latino Founders Fund (Google)
  • Military Entrepreneur Challenge (Second Service Foundation)
  • Stacy's Rise Project (Stacy's (Frito-Lay North America, PepsiCo))

Every program here was checked against the provider's own website on the date shown on its card. Offers change, so confirm the details on the program page before you apply. GrantFinder isn't affiliated with these companies.
