Guide for nonprofits

Free grants, ad credits and software for 501(c)(3) nonprofits

Every corporate program we've verified that gives 501(c)(3) nonprofits cash grants, free advertising, donated software and cloud credits, with requirements and how to apply.

Updated October 16, 2026 · 271 programs you can use now

Big companies give nonprofits far more than most people realize. Google gives eligible charities up to $10,000 a month in Google Search ads. Microsoft, Google and Salesforce give away the software most offices pay for. Walmart, Kroger, The Home Depot and your local electric company run community grant programs with open applications.

The catch is that every program has its own rules, its own verification partner and its own calendar, and many lists online are years out of date. We checked each program below against the company's own website, and each card says what you get, who qualifies and the exact steps to apply.

Start with the free software and ad grants, which you can apply for at any time. Then open your state at the bottom of the page for local grants from the companies that operate near you.

Common questions

Is Google Ad Grants really free?
It's free advertising rather than cash. Eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits get up to $10,000 a month to spend on Google Search ads. You apply for a Google for Nonprofits account, which Goodstack verifies, and then activate Ad Grants from that account.
Can a fiscally sponsored project apply?
Not for Google's programs, which require your own 501(c)(3) status. Some cash grants do accept fiscally sponsored organizations (NBCUniversal's Local Impact Grants, for example), so check the eligibility list on each card.
Which programs can we apply to today?
Anything marked "Apply any time" takes applications year-round, which covers most of the software, cloud and ad programs. Cards marked "Open now" have a deadline shown on the card, and "Opens in rounds" means the program runs on an annual or seasonal calendar.
How current is this list?
Every program was checked against the company's own website on the date shown on its card. A program whose published deadline passes moves to the ended list automatically, and we update entries as programs change.
