Guide for startups

Free cloud, AI and software credits for startups

AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft, Cloudflare and dozens of software companies give startups free credits and plans. What each offers, the funding-stage rules and how to apply.

Updated October 16, 2026 · 42 programs you can use now

If you're building a product, you can run on credits for months. AWS Activate, Google for Startups Cloud, Microsoft for Startups and Cloudflare for Startups each have a self-serve tier that doesn't require an investor, and far larger tiers once a partner accelerator or VC backs you.

Developer and business tools work the same way. GitHub, GitLab, Atlassian, Notion, HubSpot, Intercom, Mixpanel, Amplitude and others discount or waive their paid plans for early-stage companies, usually depending on age, headcount or money raised.

Each card leads with what a self-funded founder can get, and spells out the investor-only tiers in the details.

Common questions

Do bootstrapped startups qualify?
Yes, for the starter tiers. AWS Activate Founders, Google Cloud's Start tier, Microsoft for Startups and Cloudflare's bootstrapped tier don't require outside funding. The largest tiers usually do.
Can I use credits from more than one cloud provider?
These are separate programs run by competing companies, so joining one doesn't stop you joining another. Each sets its own rules about credits you've received from it before, so check the eligibility on each card.
Is any of this equity or a loan?
No. Everything here is credits, free plans or discounts. We leave out accelerators that take equity.

Programs that have ended

Still widely listed elsewhere, so here for the record. Don't apply to these.

  • Google for Startups Black Founders Fund (U.S.) (Google)
