National Grid's Industrial Building Redevelopment Program gives property owners up to $250,000 to upgrade electric and gas infrastructure so large vacant or underutilized single-user buildings (50,000+ square feet) in upstate New York can return to multi-tenant industrial use. Caps are $50,000 for projects under $1 million, $100,000 for $1-5 million, and $250,000 for $5 million and above; grants are available on a continual basis.
Owner or contract purchaser of the facility, willing to market it to out-of-state companies or occupy it as an end user, with IDA or other public development agency support
Building or complex once occupied by a single user, at least 50,000 square feet, at least 50% vacant, served by National Grid
Suitable for manufacturing, regional warehousing/distribution, R&D, data centers or back-office operations
Must be a National Grid customer in good standing (current on payments or on a deferred payment agreement)
