About this grant

NDEP's Petroleum Fund grant program helps small-business owners of underground storage tanks with the cost of complying with periodic testing requirements. It covers the purchase and installation of spill buckets, tank overfill devices, containment sumps and other Division-approved equipment subject to periodic testing. The maximum grant is $90,000 per facility, and NDEP estimates about $2,000,000 is available each year. Applications are accepted from July 1 through March 31 of the following calendar year, so the current window closes March 31, 2027.
