About this grant

A cash rebate for nationally distributed motion pictures, TV programs, documentaries, short films, commercials, music videos, video games and related media produced in Mississippi: 25% of base investment (local spend), 25% of non-resident payroll and 30% of resident payroll (for the portion of each salary up to $5 million), plus an extra 5% on payroll for Mississippi-resident honorably discharged veterans. Projects need a $50,000 minimum Mississippi spend; rebates are capped at $10 million per project and $20 million per year statewide (fiscal year July 1–June 30). Film Mississippi asks productions to apply only when fully funded, and recommends applying 4-6 weeks before Mississippi spending.
