Forest Resource Development Program (FRDP)

Mississippi Forestry CommissionNo deadline listedUp to $10,000

Summary

Private nonindustrial owners of at least 10 acres of Mississippi forestland can get cost-share of up to 75% (flat rates) for tree planting, site prep, burning, firebreaks, thinning and similar practices, up to $10,000 per year. Applications accepted first-come, first-served at local MFC offices.

About this grant

FRDP shares the cost of approved forestry practices on Mississippi forestland, such as pine and hardwood tree planting, site preparation, site-preparation and silvicultural burning, firebreaks and pre-commercial thinning. Cost-share payments cover up to 75 percent of total cost (depending on the practice) at flat rates, up to $10,000 per landowner per year, paid after the practice is completed and the landowner has paid all costs. Applications are accepted first-come, first-served, and practices must be completed in the state fiscal year (July 1–June 30) for which they are approved.
