Summary

For-profit Mississippi employers that hire registered apprentices in priority occupations (construction, advanced manufacturing, IT, skilled trades, nursing) can be reimbursed 50% of the apprentice's hourly wage, up to $3,000 per apprentice, first-come first-served until funds run out.

About this grant

The Mississippi Apprenticeship Accelerator reimburses businesses that employ registered apprentices in priority occupations an amount equal to 50% of the apprentice's hourly wage, up to a maximum of $3,000 per apprentice from MS WORKS funds. AccelerateMS initially dedicated $2 million statewide (about 300 new registered apprentices), and funds are available first-come, first-served until exhausted. Each project is an agreement between the business and its Local Workforce Development Area, which sets reimbursement conditions and per-business maximums.
