Thermal Energy Investment Program (TEIP)

Efficiency Maine TrustNo deadline listed

Summary

Maine businesses and organizations installing new wood/biomass boilers (or converting from fossil fuel) can receive incentives of 45% of equipment and installation costs, plus up to 20% more for emission controls or BTU meters; rolling applications.

About this grant

TEIP provides financial incentives to Maine businesses, municipalities, educational institutions, governmental entities and nonprofits for new wood-fueled boiler projects that produce thermal energy and thermal renewable energy credits, including conversions of fossil fuel boilers and new installations or capacity expansions. Incentives are set at 45% of the combined cost of equipment and installation labor, with an additional 20% possible for advanced emission controls or BTU meters. The Trust accepts rolling applications (starting August 1, 2025) and reviews them in the order received as funding allows.
