Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Incumbent Worker Training program

Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Employment and Training Services (DETS)No deadline listed

Summary

Alaska employers (for-profit, nonprofit or public, in business 1+ year, with at least one full-time Alaska-resident W-2 employee) can be reimbursed for training current employees to keep their jobs, advance or avoid layoffs. The employer covers 10%-50% depending on size. Applications are funded first-come, first-served until the money runs out.

About this grant

Reimbursement grants to Alaska employers for training their current employees so they can keep their jobs, advance within the business, or avoid a layoff. Employers pay training costs up front and are reimbursed the grant-covered portion. The employer contributes 10% (50 or fewer employees), 25% (51-99) or 50% (100 or more). Funding changes each year and applications are reviewed first-come, first-served until all available funding is awarded; DETS may set a cap or negotiate the award each state fiscal year. Amount not published.
