About this grant

PayPal and Global Citizen's Small Business Impact Awards give 15 purpose-driven small business owners a $20,000 cash prize each, plus technical training and marketing support. Businesses anywhere in the world, including the U.S., can enter if they are at least three years old and show local community impact. The 2026 entry window ran June 15 to July 31, 2026; 2026 was the program's second year.

Who can apply

  • For-profit companies

Owner, CEO or founder of the business, aged 18 or older

Business has fewer than 50 full-time employees and less than $1,000,000 in annual revenue

At least three years of operations; primarily operates in and serves its local community

Shows local impact through community support, sustainability, or job creation and training

Not eligible: franchises or national or international chains, prior grant recipients of the sponsor, and sanctioned countries or entities
