National Institutes of HealthCloses Sep 7, 2027(329 days left)

Does this fit your business?

This NIH program funds partnerships between academic researchers and industry to develop and validate bioengineering tools and technologies for biomedical problems, with awards going to multidisciplinary R&D teams rather than clinical service delivery. It fits small biotech, medtech, and technology firms that can team with university researchers on a 5-10 year development effort. Retail, finance, and housing businesses with no biomedical R&D angle should not bother applying.

Best for
Small biotech or medtech companies partnering with academic researchers, Universities and research institutions teaming with industry, Multidisciplinary R&D teams developing bioengineering tools, Nonprofits and tribal entities involved in biomedical technology research
Not for
Retail, finance, or real estate businesses with no biomedical angle, Clinical service delivery or patient care operations, Solo applicants without an academic or industry research partnership

About this grant

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) solicits applications from research partnerships formed by academic and industrial investigators to accelerate the development and adoption of promising bioengineering tools and technologies that can address important biomedical problems. The objectives are to establish these tools and technologies as robust, well-characterized solutions that fulfill an unmet need and are capable of enhancing our understanding of life science processes or the practice of medicine. Awards will focus on supporting multidisciplinary teams that apply an integrative, quantitative bioengineering approach to developing technologies. The goal of the program is to support technological innovations that deliver new capabilities which can realize meaningful solutions within 5 10 years.
