Innovation Grants to Nurture Initial Translational Efforts (IGNITE): Neurotherapeutic Agent Characterization and In vivo Efficacy Studies (R61/R33 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

National Institutes of HealthCloses Oct 20, 2027(372 days left)

Does this fit your business?

This is an NIH/NINDS research grant for preclinical testing of drug candidates — small molecules or biologics — aimed at neurological or neuromuscular disorders, specifically pharmacodynamic, pharmacokinetic, and in vivo efficacy studies. It fits small biotech and research organizations with a therapeutic candidate already in hand; it does not fund clinical trials, so companies past the preclinical stage or without a neuroscience focus should not bother. Money amounts are not published.

Best for
Small businesses developing small-molecule or biologic therapeutics for neurological or neuromuscular disorders, Biotech companies running pharmacodynamic, pharmacokinetic, or in vivo efficacy studies, Universities and nonprofits with preclinical neuroscience drug-development programs
Not for
Clinical-stage projects seeking to run human trials, Businesses with no neuroscience or neuromuscular drug-development work, Organizations looking for general operating or commercialization funding
